After achieving that goal, he falls into a profound existential vacuum in the Federacy, seeking death against Kiriya Nouzen’s Morpho. Through Lena's voice reaching him on the battlefield, he finally acknowledges his desire to live and envision a future.

Driven by an unwavering need to uphold human dignity, atone for Republican complicity, and survive to catch up to the Spearhead Squadron.

Starts as an earnest, naive Major within the San Magnolia military who attempts to bridge racial divides with superficial politeness. Shattered by the squad's harsh rebukes and the reality of the Republic’s deliberate genocide, she sheds her aristocratic naivety. She steals military codes, uses artillery against orders, dyes a red streak into her hair, earns the moniker "Bloody Reina," and fights on the front lines when the Republic falls, ultimately uniting with Shin as an equal.

Dedicated to keeping his comrades grounded, supporting Shin, and ensuring the survivors face their reality and survive together.

Callsign "Wehrwolf," Raiden serves as the foundational anchor of the Spearhead Squadron. He constantly challenges Shin when the latter isolates himself or spirals into suicidal tunnel vision. In the Federacy, Raiden acts as the realistic older brother to the younger survivors, ensuring they face reality together rather than allowing Shin to die alone.

Bearing the guilt of her fallen empire's war and striving to stop her former knight Kiriya from suffering in madness.

Revealed as Augusta Frederica Adel-Adler, the last Empress of the Giad Empire, she possesses the supernatural hereditary ability to see the past and present of those she knows. Bearing intense guilt for the war unleashed by her empire, she forms a deep sibling-like bond with Shin, seeing in his reckless despair the exact same madness that claimed her beloved knight, Kiriya.
