Major Plot Twists Across the Season:
- Min-ji's Survival: In Episode 1, Min-ji is struck with a brick by Hye-ri and assumed dead. However, she awakens inside a cold storage warehouse, escapes, and spends several episodes attempting to navigate back to her father while evading capture.
- Joo Kang-chan's Intervention: Chairman Joo uses financial corruption to cover up his daughter’s assault, hiring underworld fixers and forming alliances with rogue North Korean elements to suppress Kim.
- Captain Ri's Defection: Captain Ri Eung-ryeong, Kim’s former North Korean handler, defected to the South with sensitive military intel. It is revealed that Kim’s original black-ops team was betrayed by internal corruption years earlier.
Finale & Resolution (Episode 10):
In the climax, Kim defeats Joo Kang-chan's syndicate and hands Captain Ri over to complete his final obligation to intelligence handlers. To protect Kim from further government recruitment or international retribution, South Korea's Special Missions Directorate (SMD) stages his official death as Agent 66.
Min-ji initially visits his columbarium memorial believing he is gone, before being reunited with her father. Provided with new legal identities by the SMD, father and daughter start a quiet life together. In the final scene, Kim is recruited by Jo Pyeong-gyeon into Baekho Manpower, landing directly at the opening setup of the original webtoon.
