The Ice Stone
The Ice Stone symbolizes immense, untamable power, representing both creation and destruction. It is the source of the alchemy of souls, capable of reviving the dead and shifting souls, but its use comes at a great risk, often leading to petrification or loss of control ('running wild'). It is not an object to be possessed but a force of nature that chooses its bearer.
The Ice Stone is the central MacGuffin of the entire series. It is sought by Jin Mu for his nefarious plans. It is the reason for Jin Bu-yeon's miraculous birth and Jang Uk's resurrection. Ultimately, it becomes a part of Jang Uk, signifying his acceptance of his destiny as the King's Star and the protector of Daeho.
The Yin-Yang Jade
The two jade pendants, one blue and one red, symbolize the fated and inseparable bond between Jang Uk and Naksu. When brought together, they allow the wearers to feel each other's presence and share a deep connection. They represent a love that transcends physical distance and even death, a tangible manifestation of their soul-deep relationship.
Jang Uk and Naksu (as Mu-deok) share the jades in Season 1, using them to find and communicate with each other during moments of crisis.
