Initially a fan's simple hunger for nearness to the thing she loves. This mutates into wanting to be recognized rather than merely near — and, once 'Chan' resurfaces, into recovering a version of herself that existed before she learned to hide.

She begins as a 23-year-old with no dating experience whose entire romantic life is conducted at a distance, from behind a screen and a red face. Being hired into the idols' house forces her from spectator into participant — first as staff, then as friend, finally as the object of a choice she must actually make.

Her long transformation is from looking to being looked at: by the back half of the run she is negotiating a love triangle, holding her ground with people she once only adored, and confronting a childhood she had filed away. She does not become bold so much as become present.

Starts with the practical need to lay low and go unnoticed; becomes the far riskier desire to be seen accurately by one specific person, on the terms of a shared past rather than a public image.

He arrives as one of four idols in hiding and is gradually revealed to be doubly local: the grandson of the house's owner, and 'Chan,' Yeon-hee's long-lost childhood friend and first crush. His run is about deciding whether to stay behind the persona or be known as the boy he was.

Playing a fictionalized version of himself, he moves from teasing, deflecting star to someone who chooses the girl next door over the safety of concealment — a shift the finale stages as him running, late and breathless, to a playground.

Begins with quiet protectiveness toward an awkward outsider in their house; deepens into real affection; resolves into wanting her happiness on terms that do not include him.

He forms the third point of the show's central triangle, growing genuinely close to Yeon-hee as her comfort and her ally in the house. His development runs opposite to Chanyeol's: the more he understands her, the more clearly he sees the history he cannot enter.

His conclusion is renunciation rather than defeat — recognizing he cannot compete with what Chanyeol and Yeon-hee already share, he chooses to remain in her life as a friend, giving the series its most adult emotional gesture.

Amusement and mischief at first; increasingly, the preservation of the strange makeshift family the four have built inside their hiding place.

As one of the four hiding out next door, he supplies much of the series' mischief, pushing Yeon-hee into situations she would never enter voluntarily and needling the group's tensions into the open.

Across the run his teasing takes on a second function: he is the one who makes the household feel like a household, and his presence marks the show's argument that what these famous boys actually wanted next door was company.

Initially just wanting the hideout to stay a hideout and the intrusion to stay minimal; eventually, an unspoken attachment to the domestic normality Yeon-hee brings with her.

The coolest surface in the house, he begins as the member least interested in the neighbor and functions as a deadpan counterweight to Baekhyun's chaos and Chanyeol's charm.

His arc is the smallest and the most quietly telling: the gradual thaw of someone who treats the ordinary world outside as beneath notice, until the neighbor becomes part of the group's routine.
