An ambitious head of a struggling jamu dynasty, he stakes everything on one last formula that will restore both the company's fortunes and his own youth. His success is instantaneous and total — and it destroys him. He becomes Patient Zero of the outbreak he created, transformed from the family's authority into the source of its annihilation.

Protecting her son Raihan, and salvaging something — anything — from a father, a husband and a family legacy that have all let her down.

She returns to her father's house carrying a marriage in ruins, and is forced to become the one competent, load-bearing figure in a family of failures. Her arc runs from resentful daughter to protector, and the film's closing stretch delivers her cruellest turn: she recognises that she herself has been infected, making her survival and her doom the same fact.

To keep his wife and son alive, and to be forgiven, in that order or the reverse depending on the moment.

He arrives as the man who broke the marriage — an affair has pushed him and Kenes to the edge of divorce — and the crisis hands him the chance to be useful when it costs something. Whether the film grants him absolution or merely lets him try is one of its sharper cruelties.

Sadimin's new wife, structurally resented by his adult children as a threat to the inheritance and an insult to the family's past. Positioned closest to the patriarch and his experiment, she occupies the most exposed seat in the house when the tonic does what it does.

Sadimin's irresponsible son, the heir who has never done the work, agitating over what he is owed rather than what he might build. The outbreak strips away every excuse he has been living behind and asks whether there is anything underneath.
