Season 1: Brody was turned by Abu Nazir after the drone strike killing of Nazir’s son Issa. Brody records a suicide martyrdom tape and wears a suicide vest into a bunker with Vice President Walden, but Dana’s frantic phone call makes him stand down. Carrie undergoes electroconvulsive shock therapy, momentarily realizing Brody’s connection just as the shock erases her immediate memory.
Season 2: Brody’s recovery tape is found in Beirut. Carrie and the CIA arrest Brody; Carrie flips him into a double agent during an interrogation. Brody lets Walden die by withholding his pacemaker code. Abu Nazir is killed. At Walden’s memorial service at Langley, Brody’s car is detonated by terrorists, killing hundreds of CIA staff; Brody flees the country with Carrie's help.
Season 3: Carrie and Saul secretly orchestrate Carrie’s institutionalization to draw in Iranian intelligence chief Majid Javadi. Brody is sent on a suicide mission into Tehran, assassinates Iranian IRGC head General Akbari, but is arrested and publicly executed by hanging; Carrie is left pregnant with his child.
Season 4: Carrie runs the Islamabad station, ordering a drone strike on a wedding. Taliban leader Haissam Haqqani uses Saul as a hostage and raids the U.S. Embassy through tunnels provided by the ambassador’s compromised husband, massacring embassy staff.
Season 5: In Berlin, Quinn is captured by a terrorist cell in Syria-transit and used to test sarin gas on video. Carrie and Saul thwart a sarin attack at Berlin Hauptbahnhof. Quinn survives with severe brain damage.
Season 6: An alt-right media figure and CIA shadow operative Dar Adal orchestrate a domestic conspiracy against President-Elect Elizabeth Keane. Quinn sacrifices his life by driving a vehicle through sniper fire to protect Carrie and Keane. Keane subsequently turns authoritarian, arresting dozens of intelligence officials including Saul.
Season 7: Carrie works outside the law to expose Russian intelligence agent Yevgeny Gromov’s active-measures campaign to tear apart the Keane presidency. Carrie is captured in Russia and held for seven months without her psychiatric medication.
Season 8 (Finale): Carrie is deployed to Afghanistan to negotiate with Haqqani, but President Warner’s helicopter crashes. To stop a false-flag nuclear war orchestrated through Russian leverage over the flight recorder, Carrie must expose Saul's 30-year deep-cover Russian asset, Anna Pomerantseva. When Saul refuses, Anna takes her own life to protect the network. Carrie flees to Moscow with Yevgeny. Two years later, Carrie lives in Moscow as an ostensible American traitor, but covertly replaces Anna, using book manuscripts to smuggle high-level Kremlin intelligence back to Saul.
