Born into the Karibusa line with an ink-black Mushi sealed in her flesh that renders her legs lame, Tanyū spends her life recording Mushi-shi reports in black ink to exorcise the parasite. Through recurring visits from Ginko across both seasons, she develops emotional resilience and an expansive worldview beyond her secluded estate, harboring dreams of one day walking through the world herself.

A coastal doctor and antiquarian who collects bizarre relics, fossilized Mushi, and artifacts brought by Ginko. Unchanged in his eccentric materialism across both seasons, he acts as Ginko’s secular anchor and a comic, warm reminder of ordinary human curiosity and mundane domestic life.
