One last run at the candy machine before adulthood closes the door, and, underneath that, the refusal to admit that the safe, sweet version of Halloween is over for her.

Begins as the more grounded half of a pair of high-school seniors who know they're too old for trick-or-treating and go anyway. Her arc runs from ironic participation — treating the holiday as a joke she's in on — to total sincerity, as the night strips away the performance and leaves her genuinely fighting to survive the thing she treated as a story.

Thrill, transgression and proof — she wants the legend to be real, because a real monster would make the night matter.

The friend who pushes for the dare, drawn to the "mommy" legend as a story worth testing rather than a warning worth heeding. Her trajectory is the anthology's thesis in miniature: curiosity about a local myth escalates into an encounter that the myth turns out to have described accurately.

Launch the product. Protect the launch. The supernatural is not a moral problem but a quality-assurance problem.

Introduced as the determined COO shepherding Diet Phantasma to market in 1982, and defined entirely by refusal to stop. Each round of taste testing produces a more horrific result and each result is reframed as a solvable variable. There is no redemption arc — only escalation, which is the wraparound's joke and its indictment.

To collect the unruly, the too-old and the ungrateful — to enforce, monstrously, the rule that Halloween belongs to children who behave.

Exists before the story starts, as the whispered explanation for teenagers who disappear on Halloween, and is gradually promoted from rumor to fact to physical presence. She has no development because legends don't develop — they only get confirmed, which is precisely what makes her terrifying.
