The Foundational Mystery & Historical Lie: For a century, Zootopia was taught that its founder, Ebenezer Lynxley, was murdered by a malicious snake, leading to the banishment of all reptiles. In reality, Gary De'Snake's great-grandmother was a brilliant engineer who actually designed the original patents for the weather walls. Ebenezer Lynxley murdered his own maid, framed the snake, stole her patents, and built his family fortune. The Lynxleys then buried Marsh Market during Tundratown’s construction, erasing reptiles from history.
The Main Villain Twist: Throughout the film, Pawbert Lynxley (Andy Samberg) presents himself as an awkward, sympathetic outcast bullied by his powerful family who wants to aid Judy. However, as Gary and Judy reach the weather wall control room, Pawbert reveals he engineered the entire plot. Eager to prove his worth to his family dynasty, Pawbert injects Judy with snake venom, throws Gary into a freezing snowdrift, and attempts to trigger a weather wall shift to flood Marsh Market, enabling a Tundratown expansion.
Resolution & Hidden Meanings: Nick arrives in time, using Gary's anti-venom pen to save Judy’s life. Working together alongside Chief Bogo, Captain Hoggbottom, and Mayor Winddancer—who refuse to let the Lynxleys manipulate the police force any longer—they sabotage Pawbert's takeover and expose the Lynxleys live on broadcast during the Zootennial celebration. The Lynxleys are arrested, Gary's great-grandmother is officially credited as the inventor of the weather walls, and Marsh Market is integrated as an official district of Zootopia, welcoming reptiles back as full citizens.
