Head Over Heels (Korean title: 견우와 선녀 / Gyeonwoo and the Fairy) is a 12-episode Korean fantasy-romance drama directed by Kim Yong-wan and written by Yang Ji-hoon, based on Ahn Su-min's popular Naver webtoon. The series follows Park Seong-ah (Cho Yi-hyun), a high school student who leads a secretive double life as a renowned shaman known as "Fairy Cheonji" by night. Her ordinary high school existence is upended when Bae Gyeon-woo (Choo Young-woo), a talented youth archer plagued by severe bad luck and tragic family losses, visits her shrine with his grandmother.
Upon meeting Gyeon-woo, Seong-ah experiences a shamanic vision of him standing upside down—an omen signifying that he is destined to die within 21 days. Smitten by her first love, Seong-ah vows to rewrite his tragic fate. The next day, Gyeon-woo unexpectedly transfers to her high school class. Seong-ah discovers that physical contact with her acts as a live human talisman to shield Gyeon-woo from malevolent spirits, forcing the two into close proximity.
As their feelings deepen, the pair—alongside Seong-ah’s loyal classmate Pyo Ji-ho (Cha Kang-yoon)—must navigate not only high school life but also deadly supernatural threats. Corrupt, fame-obsessed shaman Yeom Hwa (Choo Ja-hyun) meddles with powerful curses, awakening an ancient restless spirit named Bong-su that threatens to destroy Gyeon-woo’s body and soul. Across its single-season story arc, the series transitions from a lighthearted supernatural teen romantic comedy into an intense, emotionally charged tale of mutual salvation, spiritual responsibility, and overcoming destiny.
