Across Season 2, she resists becoming an authoritarian herself, remaining anchored by her commitment to protecting individual human lives (including Toughie and Park Jung-ja) above all political ideologies.

In Season 1, he presents as an austere, soft-spoken spiritual visionary who founds the New Truth. In secret, he received a decree 20 years earlier despite living an upright life. Driven by terror, he constructs an elaborate lie of divine retribution so humanity shares his dread. In Season 2, following his resurrection, he is driven entirely by paralyzing panic and psychological hallucinations of hell, ultimately succumbing to despair and transforming into an Executor himself.

In Season 1, she is an impoverished single mother whose public demonstration becomes the foundational media event for the New Truth's ascent. Resurrected at the end of Season 1, she becomes Season 2’s most valuable political pawn, sought after by the government, the New Truth, and Arrowheads to legitimize their rule. Unlike Jin-su, she emerges from the afterlife with serene clarity and clairvoyance, focused exclusively on reuniting with her children rather than claiming divine status.

A grief-stricken police detective investigating the initial demonstrations while grieving his murdered wife. After Jin-su manipulates Kyeong-hoon’s daughter Hee-jeong into executing her mother's killer, Kyeong-hoon is forced into complicit silence regarding Jin-su's death to protect his child. In Season 2, he lives in isolated seclusion caring for his dying daughter, embodying the quiet, crushing cost of moral compromise.
