I Am Not a Robot (로봇이 아니야) is a South Korean romantic-comedy drama directed by Jeong Dae-yun and written by Kim Sun-mi. The narrative centers on Kim Min-kyu, the ultra-wealthy primary shareholder of KM Financial who lives in total isolation due to a life-threatening, psychosomatic "human contact allergy". Min-kyu's severe condition causes him to develop grotesque, asphyxiating hives whenever he comes into direct skin-to-skin contact with another person, compelling him to survive inside a luxurious mansion guarded by robotic vacuums, security batons, and specialized protective gear.
His solitary world is disrupted when he agrees to test and potentially fund the Santa Maria robotics team led by Dr. Hong Baek-gyun. The team has developed "Aji-3," the world's most advanced gynoid android, modeled precisely after Baek-gyun's entrepreneurial ex-girlfriend, Jo Ji-ah. When an unforeseen technical malfunction severely damages Aji-3's internal battery on the eve of the trial, Baek-gyun desperately hires the real Jo Ji-ah to don an android disguise and act as Aji-3 inside Min-kyu's estate until repairs are finished.
What begins as an absurd, high-stakes masquerade gradually deepens into an intimate connection. Believing Ji-ah is truly a machine, Min-kyu opens his guarded heart, treats her as his primary companion, and undergoes psychological and physical healing. Meanwhile, Ji-ah finds herself torn between her growing feelings for a deeply wounded young man and the looming consequence of the deception that makes their relationship possible.
