Five years after Dominion, modern atmospheric conditions have caused de-extinct dinosaurs to die off globally, except in equatorial zones. Corporate representative Martin Krebs hires mercenary Zora Bennett and paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis to travel to Ile Saint-Hubert, a top-secret InGen island research facility abandoned 17 years prior after a disastrous incident caused by a trapped worker.
Their objective is to secure DNA samples from three colossal species—Mosasaurus, Titanosaurus, and Quetzalcoatlus—to synthesize "Paleodioxin," a cure for human heart disease. En route, their vessel rescues the Delgado family after their boat is destroyed by a Mosasaurus. On the island, the group discovers that InGen was secretly creating horrifying genetic mutations to boost park interest, leading to deformed creatures like the six-limbed Distortus rex (D-Rex) and wing-legged Mutadons.
During the escape, Krebs betrays the group, attempting to keep the DNA case for himself to monopolize the patent. In his obsession, Krebs handcuffs the briefcase to his wrist. As the group reaches the escape tunnels, the monstrous D-Rex attacks. Krebs is eaten whole by the D-Rex, leaving behind only his severed arm still attached to the briefcase.
Zora recovers the case, and Duncan distracts the D-Rex using a flare, allowing everyone to board the escape boat. In the final twist, Zora and Loomis reject ParkerGenix's corporate motives and decide to release the genetic research freely to the open scientific community worldwide.
