Strangers from Hell (also known as Hell Is Other People) is a 10-episode psychological horror-thriller drama based on the acclaimed Naver webtoon by Kim Yong-ki. The story follows Yoon Jong-woo, an aspiring crime-fiction writer in his late twenties who moves from the countryside to Seoul after securing an unpaid internship at a senior college friend’s PR agency. Chronically strapped for cash, Jong-woo is forced to take up residence at Eden Gosiwon—an exceptionally cheap, decrepit, and suffocating micro-dormitory sharing communal kitchens and bathrooms.
Soon after settling into Room 303, Jong-woo realizes that the gosiwon is inhabited by deeply unsettling neighbors: a creepy, giggling twin; a suspicious pervert; a suspiciously hospitable landlady; and a charming, sophisticated dentist residing next door. As bizarre incidents, disappearances, and ambient hostilities pile up inside the dormitory and at his toxic workplace, Jong-woo's paranoia escalates rapidly. The series charts his harrowing psychological deterioration as the oppressive social environment and predatory strangers systematically strip away his sanity, pushing him toward the threshold of irreversible darkness.
