Major Twists & Finale Breakdown:
- The True Identity of Pavel's Boss: Throughout the show, the mysterious international mafia "Pavel" controls the drug network behind Doogo. In the finale, the true mastermind ("Nozh") behind Pavel's Korean operation is revealed to be Bread Song (Hong Seok-cheon), the outwardly eccentric, fake real-estate fraudster who had been lingering around Geum-ju.
- Ryu Si-o's Fate: After discovering Nam-soon was an undercover spy named Tsetseg who betrayed his trust, Si-o's mental state collapses. When surrounded by police and confronted by his former childhood friend Binbin (sent by Pavel to assassinate him), Si-o chooses to take his own life with a revolver rather than be killed by Pavel or arrested by the state.
- Nam-soon's Near-Death & Recovery: Injected with the concentrated CTA4885 drug, Nam-soon nearly dies as her internal organs break down. She is saved when her mother and grandmother retrieve the sea hare-derived antidote from Busan in the nick of time.
- Series Resolution: Nam-soon is officially hired by the Gangnam Police Precinct as a special police officer in the drug task force. She and Hee-sik get engaged under the cherry blossom trees. Hwang Geum-ju expands her global vigilante network to fight international crime cartels.
