The Amazing Spider-Man 2 follows Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) as he fully embraces his superhero alter-ego, patrolling New York City while attempting to balance his deep commitment to Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) with a ghosted promise made to her late father to keep her safe. Peter struggles with the friction between his dual lives, finding solace in Gwen's presence even as visions of her father weigh heavily on his conscience. Meanwhile, his personal quest to uncover the truth behind his parents' sudden abandonment leads him directly back to the doorstep of Oscorp Industries.
The status quo shatters with two major shifts at Oscorp. Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx), an invisible and socially isolated electrical engineer, suffers a horrific industrial accident that transforms him into Electro, a living energy generator driven by an erratic desire for recognition. Simultaneously, Peter’s long-lost childhood friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns to New York to claim his inheritance as head of Oscorp while battling a fatal, hereditary illness. As Harry grows increasingly desperate for a cure, these intersecting lives pull Peter into a web of corporate corruption, tragic betrayals, and high-stakes battles across Manhattan.
