The K2 is a 16-episode South Korean political action thriller and melodrama produced by Studio Dragon and HB Entertainment, written by Jang Hyuk-rin, and directed by Kwak Jung-hwan. The series follows Kim Je-ha, a disgraced former mercenary soldier for the private military company Blackstone. After being framed for the murder of his civilian lover while deployed in Iraq, Je-ha becomes a fugitive hunted across international borders. Upon returning to South Korea, a chance encounter draws him into the orbit of JSS Security, an elite private security firm serving South Korea's top political and financial elite.
Je-ha is recruited by Choi Yoo-jin, the ruthless, calculating wife of presidential candidate Jang Se-joon and heiress to the JB Group chaebol. Seeing an opportunity to exact revenge on Park Kwan-soo—a rival presidential candidate responsible for his lover's death in Iraq—Je-ha accepts the job, earning the code name "K2". He is assigned to guard Go An-na, the reclusive, traumatized illegitimate daughter of Jang Se-joon, who has been hidden away from the public to protect her father's political ambitions and stepmother's grip on power.
As Je-ha navigates the treacherous waters of political conspiracies, corporate espionage, and backstabbing alliances, he finds himself caught between his sworn duty, his thirst for vengeance, and his growing emotional bond with An-na. What begins as a strategic contract evolves into a battle for freedom and justice against a system corrupted by unbridled greed and ruthless ambition.
