The Woman in Cabin 10 follows Laura "Lo" Blacklock (Keira Knightley), an investigative journalist struggling with post-traumatic stress after witnessing the violent drowning of a confidential source. Eager to revive her career and escape lingering trauma, Lo accepts a high-profile assignment to cover the maiden voyage of an ultra-luxurious boutique superyacht sailing from England toward the fjords of Norway. The trip is hosted by terminally ill Norwegian heiress Anne Bullmer (Lisa Loven Kongsli) and her charming husband, Richard (Guy Pearce), who are launching a massive charitable foundation.
On the first night at sea, seeking to avoid an awkward encounter with her ex-boyfriend and assigned photographer, Ben Morgan (David Ajala), Lo inadvertently slips into the adjacent Cabin 10, encountering an elusive blonde passenger. Hours later, awakened by a struggle next door, Lo witnesses what appears to be a woman’s body being thrown overboard into the frigid dark ocean.
When Lo frantically raises the alarm, the yacht’s captain, crew, and high-society passengers insist that Cabin 10 was never occupied and that all guests and crew are accounted for. Dismissed as intoxicated, hysterical, and traumatized, Lo is systematically gaslit by the passengers and crew while she desperately fights to unmask a conspiracy before becoming the next victim lost at sea.
