Deliver Us from Evil (2020), written and directed by Hong Won-chan, is a high-octane South Korean crime-action thriller centered on In-nam (Hwang Jung-min), a weary, black-ops operative turned gun-for-hire. Having finished his final hit in Tokyo, In-nam plans to leave the underworld behind forever and retire to a quiet life in Panama. However, his past suddenly catches up to him when his estranged former lover is murdered in Bangkok and her young daughter is kidnapped by a ruthless human-trafficking syndicate.
Driven by remorse and discovering that the kidnapped girl is his biological daughter, In-nam travels to the suffocating underworld of Thailand on an urgent rescue mission. Navigating foreign turf, he recruits Yui (Park Jeong-min), a Korean-Thai transgender cabaret singer who dreams of saving enough money for gender affirmation surgery.
Unbeknownst to In-nam, his last assassination in Japan triggered a ferocious pursuit by Ray "The Butcher" (Lee Jung-jae), a psychopathic Korean-Japanese enforcer whose brother was killed in the hit. Ray relentlessly traces In-nam’s trail across borders, turning Bangkok into an all-out battleground where vengeance collides with a desperate father's pursuit of salvation.
