Soundtrack #1 (2022) is a compact, four-episode South Korean romance drama directed by Kim Hee-won and written by Ahn Sae-bom. The narrative centers on photographer Han Seon-woo and lyricist Lee Eun-soo, two creative professionals who have shared a tightly knit bond for nearly two decades. When Eun-soo is challenged by an established producer to write an evocative song about unrequited love—an emotional territory she has never personally navigated—she enlists Seon-woo to temporarily move into her home and assist her, unaware that she has been the sole object of his unrequited love for years.
Over their two weeks of cohabitation, the daily rhythms of shared meals, impromptu late-night songwriting sessions, and quiet creative collaborations gently dissolve the protective walls guarding their relationship. Small gestures and lingering gazes magnify emotional tension, forcing both individuals to confront the unspoken currents flowing beneath their comfortable routine. As an overseas career opportunity threatens to put physical distance between them, both Seon-woo and Eun-soo are compelled to decide whether maintaining the safety of a twenty-year friendship is worth the cost of burying their true feelings forever.
