In 1971, Roger and Carolyn Perron move with their five daughters into an expansive, secluded 18th-century farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island. What begins as an idyllic fresh start quickly curdles when their dog Sadie refuses to cross the threshold, clocks stop inexplicably at 3:07 a.m., strange bruises appear on Carolyn’s body, and the family experiences terrifying nighttime visitations. As sinister phenomena escalate from ghostly knocks and foul rotting odors to violent poltergeist attacks, the Perrons realize their home is under siege by an evil force.
Desperate to protect her children, Carolyn attends a university seminar led by Ed and Lorraine Warren—renowned demonologists and paranormal investigators. Lorraine, a devout clairvoyant, and Ed, a demonologist recognized by the Catholic Church, agree to examine the residence. Upon setting foot on the property, Lorraine senses an overwhelming malevolence that has attached itself to the house and the family.
Partnering with local law enforcement and assistant tech investigators, the Warrens install cameras, audio recorders, and thermal sensors throughout the house. As they uncover the dark historical origins of the land—involving witch trials, child sacrifice, and a demonic curse—the investigators realize they are racing against time before the sinister presence fully claims the Perron family.
